William Morris was an English textile designer, writer, and craftsman who led the Arts and Crafts movement, championing beautifully made, handcrafted goods over cheap factory production. His richly patterned wallpapers and fabrics, often featuring flowers, leaves, and birds, are still produced and loved today. He also wrote poetry and fantasy novels and was an early voice for socialism in Britain.
