Yogi Berra was an American baseball catcher and manager who won a record ten World Series championships as a player with the New York Yankees. Before his baseball career, he served in the U.S. Navy and was aboard a rocket boat off Omaha Beach during the D-Day invasion of Normandy in 1944.
