Terry Pratchett

1948 – 2015

1900s-2000s England · Writer

Terry Pratchett was an English author who created Discworld, a wildly funny fantasy world balanced on the backs of four elephants standing on a giant turtle swimming through space. He wrote more than 40 Discworld novels full of jokes, clever ideas, and surprising wisdom, making him one of Britain's best-selling authors ever. When he was knighted, he famously forged his own sword — using iron from a meteorite.
