Margaret Fuller was an American journalist, critic, and early advocate for women's rights, known for her book Woman in the Nineteenth Century. She was the first woman allowed to use Harvard's library for research and became the first female full-time book reviewer in American journalism. She later reported from Italy on the Roman Revolution of 1848–49 for the New York Tribune, becoming one of America's first female foreign war correspondents. She was part of the Transcendentalist movement alongside thinkers like Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau.
