Frida Kahlo
1907 – 1954
Frida Kahlo was a Mexican painter known for her bold, deeply personal self-portraits exploring pain, identity, and Mexican culture. She survived a serious bus accident as a teenager that caused lifelong health struggles, and much of her art reflects that physical and emotional journey. Married to the famous muralist Diego Rivera and known for claiming she was born in 1910 — the year the Mexican Revolution began — rather than her actual birth year of 1907, she is remembered today as one of the most celebrated and influential artists of the 20th century.
